IEA members are dedicated to reducing their impact on the environment while meeting the demand for affordable, reliable and increasingly clean energy.
Consistent with national trends in electric generating unit emissions, as reported by U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Clean Air Markets Division1, Indiana electric power emissions have dropped significantly in the past decades. Since 2005, emissions from Indiana’s electric power industry have decreased by 96% for sulfur dioxide (SO2), 79% for nitrogen dioxide (NOx), and 44% for carbon dioxide (CO2).
As Indiana transitions to a more diversified generation mix, resource adequacy and reliability will remain critical and important for the business community. As such, energy providers will continue to work closely with stakeholders to ensure Indiana remains on the right track.
